about Patty Geraghty NP
I’ve spent decades taking care of women and loving every moment of it. My original advanced practice training was in women’s health from the University of California, San Francisco. After I completed a post-masters as a Family Nurse Practitioner, I became an Associate Professor and the first coordinator of the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Holy Names University in Oakland. I love teaching but I learned that my energy came from forming relationships with my patients, so I returned to that focus.
I feel truly honored to have had the privilege of working with women from the age of puberty to past menopause. We always worked together to optimize health and quality of life. Thank you to each of you for allowing me to share that journey with you.
I will continue to teach and speak about women’s health topics from birth control, to problem periods, to menopause and beyond at professional conferences across the nation. I edited and wrote a book on menopause which is now found in medical libraries around the world. I’m on the advisory boards of several health companies including Sharecare, Inc , Healthy Women and Women Living Better where I review medical content and do on-camera videos which are linked on the Information For You and Your Girlfriends page of this website. Additionally I serve as an expert on advisory boards of pharmaceutical companies delivering products to help women, such as the new class of medications for both endometriosis and heavy bleeding from uterine fibroids.
It’s a blessing to love what you do in life.
